The objective of any mixing process is to distribute and blend materials with different characteristics and quantities as evenly as possible, resulting in a homogenous mixture. Introducing proportional movement with the optimal intensity yields effective, homogeneous mixing results. Much like stirring, simple one-directional movement with inadequate acceleration of the materials would not achieve the same mixing results.

Dilute Stream Solid-Liquid Separations Using Continuous Vacuum Filtration Technologies

Continuous solid-liquid separation, by vacuum or pressure, are integral components of a processing scheme to produce energy from algae, biomass or other types of slurries. In solid-liquid separation systems, there are a wide variety of parameters that influence their performance. These include, for example, particle size and shape, type of particle (i.e. soft, gelatinous, discrete), density, concentration of solids in the slurry, viscosity, cake height, pressure or vacuum, and filter media. Continuous vacuum belt filters and continuous rotary pressure filters have been used to dewater these types of slurries. This presentation will focus on dewatering unit operations, test data and field installations.

Brought into line - Rotor crushers for the production of sand and fine sand

AT MINERAL PROCESSING

For the production of sands for the construction materials industry BHS Sonthofen has developed special rotor crushers, which depending on crushing requirements and the application range of the sand product can process soft, medium-hard to hard and wear-intensive rock. At the company's test centre original machines are available for conducting test series. The following paper describes the principle of operation of BHS rotor crushers and presents different examples of crusher performance with reference to screening curves.
