The slag formed during stainless steel production contains valuable raw materials which should preferably be fed back to the melt or intelligently reused. With a treatment plant at Outokumpu Nirosta in Krefeld/Germany ThyssenKrupp MillServices & Systems GmbH (TKMSS) has demonstrated that dry treatment of slag is significantly more economical and environmentally friendly than wet treatment. The central element of the plant technology is impact crushing.

New twin-shaft mixers for dry building materials

ZKG INTERNATIONAL

BHS-Sonthofen in Southern Germany has unveiled twin-shaft mixers of the new DMX series. They are adapted to the special requirements of mixing dry materials, such as cement, dry mortar, bonding compounds and dry shotcrete. The new mixers are specially tailored to the production of dry material mixtures. They are suitable for mixtures containing all manner of aggregates, cement, small dry components, plastic fibers and cellulose.

Twin-shaft batch mixers also for precast concrete plants

At bauma 2013, BHS-Sonthofen presented mixers of the DKX series, which can be adjusted individually to the requirements of the precast concrete industry with their comprehensive modular system. They are suitable for mixing fiber and colored concretes as well as self-compacting concretes, HPC, and UHPC. They ensure very high homogeneity and reproducibility of the different mix designs.

Production of dry mortar sands

AT MINERAL PROCESSING

For the production of dry mortar sands, BHS Sonthofen has developed special rotor crushers that, depending on the application, can crush soft, medium-hard to hard as well as wear-intensive materials, especially rock. The preferred machines for such applications are impact mills or impact crushers with a horizontal shaft, as well as rotor centrifugal crushers and rotor impact mills with a vertical shaft. With the efficient deployment of these machines in a production line, it is possible to optimally adjust a formulation, to obtain consistent quality over the entire lifetime of the wear parts and to optimize throughput rates.
