Rotary Pressure Filter RPF Exact separation of suspensions

Brochure   -   Rotary Pressure Filter
The BHS Rotary Pressure Filter is a continuously operating unit for pressure filtration, washing and drying of the cake formed. It is ideally suited for processing volatile or hazardous products or for sterile processes.

The filter works at a pressure of up to 7 bar (g). In all process steps, pressure is generated by feeding of the suspension and/or the washing and extraction agents and not by layers of gases. Depending on the design, numerous further process steps can be accomplished after the main solid-liquid separation such as: cake washing in one or multiple stages, displacement washing, counter-current washing, closed cycle washing, reslurrying, solvent exchanges, steaming, extraction etc. Subsequently, the filter cake can be dewatered mechanically, or - as an option - dried thermally. All process steps are performed in separate cells of the rotating drum. Thus, the filtrates can be drained off separately.

A simple integrated discharge system allows the filter cake to be discharged at atmospheric pressure directly to the downstream equipment. After automatic cake discharge, the filter cloth is cleaned and ready for a new filtration cycle.

The BHS Rotary Pressure Filter works on the principle of cake building filtration.
