Rotor centrifugal crusher (RSMX)

The crusher and cubicator

Our rotor centrifugal crusher (type RSMX) is a high-performance crusher with a vertical shaft for throughput rates of 30 to 400 t/h, depending on the model. It is suitable for all types of minerals, including extremely hard input materials.

Every single particle of the input material undergoes extreme acceleration in the patented twin-chamber rotor and is subsequently thrown against the fixed impact wall. The impact wall can consist of an anvil ring or a rock shelf. The ample size of the rotor and housing largely eliminates the risk of clogging. The crushing result can be decisively influenced and optimized by selecting the appropriate rotation speed.

Thanks to the rock-on-rock principle, only very few machine parts are susceptible to wear. As a result, the machine is also suitable for highly abrasive input materials (such as gravel) or producing crushed sand from highly abrasive minerals. The grading curve remains unchanged even after increased wear of the crushing tools.

Since stress is applied to every single particle, rock processing yields other interesting benefits beyond crushing:

  • Improved grain shape (cubicity, crushed face count)
  • Selective crushing of composite minerals

This machine is also suitable for highly abrasive materials:

  • Glass processing
  • Slag processing
  • Brick fragment processing

At our BHS technical center in Sonthofen, we can perform industrial tests on customer-specific materials using the RSMX rotor centrifugal crusher. In this way, we can find solutions to even the most challenging problems.

Brought into line - Rotor crushers for the production of sand and fine sand

For the production of sands for the construction materials industry BHS Sonthofen has developed special rotor crushers, which depending on crushing requirements and the application range of the sand product can process soft, medium-hard to hard and wear-intensive rock. At the company's test centre original machines are available for conducting test series. The following paper describes the principle of operation of BHS rotor crushers and presents different examples of crusher performance with reference to screening curves.

Impact Stresses for Selective Comminution - For processing slag, incineration ash and dross

Metal-containing waste, e.g. slag, incineration ash and dross, are formed during the production of metals and are to be recycled as waste-derived materials. To obtain an optimal and marketable separated product from the processing of these material groups, the process parameters must be individually adjusted depending on the required final product, but series of tests conducted at the BHS test centre have shown that the above-mentioned wastederived materials can be processed in the same machine systems despite different their material properties.
