Cement production: using bypass dust to reduce energy costs

CEMENT INTERNATIONAL

A new method makes it possible to use up to 100 % alternative fuels for clinker production and to recover the resulting bypass dust as a recyclable material. Indexing belt filters from BHS-Sonthofen enable the bypass dust obtained during the production of clinker to be completely reintroduced into the process when using up to 100 % of the more costeffective alternative fuels in cement kilns. Reintroduction of the recovered bypass dust increases cement production by up to 3 %. Proof that the method works reliably on a commercial scale has been provided by a new plant with an annual capacity of 20000 t.

More efficient crushed sand production

AT MINERAL PROCESSING

BHS-Sonthofen introduced their new rotor impact mill of type RPMF at bauma 2016. The new RPMF machines produce even finer fractions as well as output material with a significantly higher proportion of fine sand. As such, machines of this type are more efficient in producing crushed sand.

Twin mixing plant: Two different mixing procedures in one system

A new unparalleled mixing plant from BHS-Sonthofen has been in operation of late at Nikolaus Müller Kalkwerk-Natursteinwerke (Müllerkalk) in Rhineland-Palatinate close to the Belgian border: It combines the continuous moistening of agricultural lime and the batch production of mixed binders for ground stabilization measures. The new plant opens up new markets for Müllerkalk, thereby compensating for the somewhat seasonally fluctuating lime market. The fully automatic loading is a special feature: it is available approximately 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
