The mountain rescue service performs search and rescue operations in rough terrain in the Alpine region. Their members usually work on a voluntary basis. The rescue service in our neighboring town of Bad Hindelang is planning to build an urgently needed new mountain rescue station as a central facility for their requirements. The construction work is scheduled to start at the end of April. The project is be funded on the basis of donations. The number of call-outs for the Hindelang mountain rescue service has been steadily increasing for years. They were called out almost 400 times last year.

BHS-Sonthofen has supported this investment with a donation of 25,000 euro. The donation was officially handed over on March 21, 2012 on the site of the planned mountain rescue station at the lower terminus of the Hornbahn cable car in Bad Hindelang. With the donation, BHS-Sonthofen wishes to underscore its high esteem for the volunteers of the mountain rescue service. The company is delighted that this donation closes the last sizable gap in the overall financing of the project.
