Reliable and powerful

In the construction of hydro dams, the demands placed on concrete technology are extremely challenging. BHS mixers have stood the test on countless hydro dam construction sites for many years. Our mixers produce consistently homogeneous mixes in a short amount of time and are incredibly reliable, even in continuous mode. To reduce maintenance due to wear, we offer the Optilong protector for our twin-shaft batch mixer (type DKX). With 28 mm thick tiles, the Optilong offers long-lasting protection.

In addition to batch mixers we also offer continuous mixers with twin-shaft technology. Both types of mixers have proven to be an excellent choice for the construction of RCC concrete hydro dams in recent years. We also deliver complete plants, including containerized plants for batch operation as well as a continuous concrete mixing plant with an ISO container design for low-cost transportation.

The Longtan Dam project in China

The Longtan Dam is located in southern China on the Hongshui River, a tributary of the Pearl River. Completed in 2009, the dam is 216 meters high, making it the tallest RCC concrete structure in the world at that time. The crest of the dam is 832 meters long and 13.6 meters wide. Two BHS type DKX 7.0 twin-shaft batch mixers were used to mix concrete for the dam. The rock aggregates were no larger than 150 mm in size, and approximately 6 million cubic meters of concrete were produced.
