The BHS rotor impact mill (type RPM) is an excellent choice for producing high-grade cubical crushed sand with minimal filler content. Thanks to the machine's multiple adjustment options, you can produce the desired grain-size curve with high precision. Even off-spec particles smaller than 4 mm can be processed.

BHS has developed the dry powder batch mixer (type DMX) specially for mixing dry materials. The DMX is based on the principle of twin-shaft mixing technology which has already proven its worth in a wide range of applications due to its outstanding mixing abilities. Thanks to the sophisticated mixing mechanism with the directed three-dimensional motion pattern, the speed of the mixer can be less than that for comparable single-shaft or intensive mixers while still producing a greater mixing effect. The grain structure of sensitive batch ingredients, such as perlite, styrofoam or expanded concrete, is thus preserved. If undesired agglomerations are to be disintegrated, the mixer can be fitted with agitators along the longitudinal side of the trough.

Residue-free discharge is possible thanks to two large, airtight discharge door wings while the smooth mixing tools reduce material adhesion to a minimum. Compared with other mixing systems, twin-shaft mixers are filled to a much greater extent, making them more compact for a comparable throughput rate and also more warp-resistant. In the case of new plants, mixers of the DMX series are thus ideal because of their small dimensions; for modification to existing plants, they allow the installation of a more powerful mixer in the available space.

A new unparalleled mixing plant from BHS-Sonthofen has been in operation of late at Nikolaus Müller Kalkwerk-Natursteinwerke (Müllerkalk) in Rhineland-Palatinate close to the Belgian border: It combines the continuous moistening of agricultural lime and the batch production of mixed binders for ground stabilization measures. The new plant opens up new markets for Müllerkalk, thereby compensating for the somewhat seasonally fluctuating lime market. The fully automatic loading is a special feature: it is available approximately 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
