Dry mortar

For the highest quality requirements

We serve the dry mortar industry with our crushing technology as well as our mixing technology.

The BHS rotor impact mill (type RPM) is an excellent choice for producing high-grade cubical crushed sand with minimal filler content. Thanks to the machine's multiple adjustment options, you can produce the desired grain-size curve with high precision. Even off-spec particles smaller than 4 mm can be processed.

The excellent mixing capabilities of the BHS twin-shaft batch mixer (type DKX) are also finding increasing use in the dry mortar industry. Residue-free discharge is possible thanks to two airtight discharge flaps. Compared to conventional single-shaft batch mixers, the more compact design of the twin-shaft batch mixer saves valuable space in the plant. Formula ingredients that are added even in the smallest quantities are quickly and evenly distributed in a reproducible fashion. The mixing tools in a twin-shaft mixer operate at slower speeds than other mixer designs. This prevents particles from being destroyed and reduces wear-related costs and power consumption. Although the mixer usually does not require whirlers, agglomerates are reliably disintegrated.

Basic principles to plan plants for dry mix mortars

The use of dry mix mortars has strongly increased all over the world during the last 15 years. Their advantages, i. e. adaptation of the mix formula to the particular operational application, the possibility of minimizing the amounts used, excellent workability, constant quality, quicker completion of the building and less building rubbish, compensate for the disadvantage of the higher price in every way. If natural sand is not available in sufficient quantities, predominantly crusher sand from soft and medium-hard rocks will be used. There are various technological alternatives for producing sand depending on the properties of the rock, the primary grain mix available and the desired flexibility of the plant.
